Data Availability

The wave buoys deployed within each region have been operating for different lengths of time. By selecting a buoy here, you can visualize the data availabilty for each site in our archives.

The figure below will show the total number of observations per day, which should be either 24 (for hourly tranmissions) or 48 (for half-hourly transmissions). Daily totals less than 24 or between 24-48 may represent: (1) real data gaps when transmissions failed, (2) temporary missing data due to servicing, or (3) updates to our real-time workflows where data has not been backfilled.

If you believe there is missing data, please use the contact form to get in touch. Additionally, users are encouraged to check the National Wave Buoy archive (real-time) available on the IMOS Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN) portal.
